When to Have the Second Child: Tips on Spacing Siblings

February 24th, 2010 No comments

How long should you wait before having your second baby? What age gap fosters the closest relationship between siblings? What’s best for mom and dad?

Parents often agonize about when to have the next child. And no wonder. One of the biggest factors affecting family life is the age difference between children.

Obviously it’s hard to time your second child’s arrival exactly. But it is worth considering the advantages and disadvantages of different spacing scenarios.

Here’s what you need to know to plan your family:

*Three years apart is considered optimal. The consensus among experts is that three years between kids is the best spacing for both children and parents. It gives the first child a chance to get established emotionally and provides parents enough time to gather their wits before the second arrives.

*Close spacing is hard early on. Parents with kids less than three years apart in age have to deal with two tots in diapers, two throwing tantrums and two wiggling out of their car seats. It’s a phase – however, it’s a long and often stressful one.

*Close spacing pays off later. Kids close in age tend to have the same interests, schedules and friends, making them easy to manage as they grow. They can go to bed at the same time, watch the same movies and go to the same school. Read more…

     Urinary tract infections

When the urinary tract is invaded by germs, you are likely to suffer from a urinary tract infection. An untreated urinary tract infection can infect your kidneys and cause permanent damage. Most urinary tract infections occur through the urethra, the tube that transfers urine out of the body through the bladder. The germs that cause this infection usually reside in the large intestine and are present in your stool. Your chances of getting a urinary tract infection are greater if you have a low fluid intake or if you suffer from diabetes. The presence of enlarged prostate glands or kidney stones increases your chances of having an infected urinary tract.

Symptoms of a urinary tract infection include painful or burning sensations while urinating, a heavy or tender stomach, cloudy or smelly urine, pain in the kidneys, chills and fever, vomiting and nausea. A course of antibiotics will treat the infection, but you can prevent it drinking lots of water everyday and urinating frequently.

     Yeast infection

Yeast infections are caused by a specific kind of fungi, the candida albicans. Yeast infections are characterized by burning, inflammation and itching in the folds of your skin. Other symptoms of a fungal infection include fiery red rashes with sharply outlined edges and a scalloped border. These rashes are usually visible as minute pimples filled with pus in the genitals or in the folds of skin around your navel or on your neck or underarms. You are likely to develop yeast infection if you have poor hygiene, are overweight, wear tight-fitting clothes or have a weak immune system. Yeast infection can be treated by a topical non-prescription ointment.

It is perhaps the action packed motion that makes the male so tactile to any surrounding stimuli. Most research has clearly indicated that it’s quite predictable to understand all that goes on in a male mind, with regard to sexual fantasies. It’s all the more difficult to understand females. Coming back to the scene of an erected fly! During periods of arousal, the gentle stroking and titillating effect has a long way to go before it gets enveloped into the vagina. Since most male reactions are quite prolonged, especially sexual ones, the fly tends to swell even more during the actual act of intercourse. It is more of an involuntary act that forms the complete circuit of lovemaking! And henceforth, the body is set for some real rapid-fire rounds of passion.

     Erections in the Unborn too!
It is no wonder that even unborn male kids within the womb also have erections that have been recorded thanks to technology. Any stimuli for that matter, be it erotic books, or lingerie, or even phone sex can cause an erection. And because it is involuntary a movement, it needs to be trained, especially as this proves beneficial at a later stage. Like all of us go through various periods in life, slotted by age and time, there are certain exercises that could be performed to actually train your fly. In Yogic terms, it is known as the ‘Vrajoli Mudra’ or simply put, the start stop technique. While growing up, all teenage boys experience the ‘Wet Dream‘ phenomenon.

This is a clear indication of the act of erection being involuntary. The ‘Vrajoli Mudra’ helps is training the fly, to an extent that you could even have ample control over your erections. Many people think this act to be wrong. According to me, this would be nothing more than a form of exercise, persevered in times when its needed most. Most of my friends have been honest enough in telling me that it’s not always easy for them to coax their husbands’ from indulging themselves, sexually speaking. Read more…
