Tips to Help You Get Motivated to Work Out

February 16th, 2011 No comments

When it comes to exercises and dieting, one of the biggest issues is motivation. People may be motivated at first to reach their fitness goals, but this slowly dies down when they are not seeing quick results. A lot of people make new year resolutions to build great bodies but they end up giving up after a week or two. This article provides a few tips on how you can keep yourself motivated to work out consistently.

The first tip is pretty much optional but it helps a lot. Try and think of your dream girl or guy when you work out. For guys, there is nothing more impressive than showing off your great body to your female counterpart. The same applies for women. Stick a poster of your favorite celebrity on the wall. Place it in an area where you will have to stare at often. By looking at the poster, you will feel more motivated as you will want to build a build which is as defined or as great as theirs.

The second tip is to build a specific schedule. Try and make it as specific as possible so you are never lost when you are working out. For example, specify the exact exercise you are going to perform, as well as the number of repetitions and sets. Try and vary your exercises so your routine will not become boring.

Lastly, if normal work outs do not keep you motivated then try some fun alternatives. For example, kick boxing and yoga are a great way to develop various parts of your body.

Tips to Stop Being Always Tired and Hungry

February 10th, 2011 No comments

There are some main causes of why you may be feeling tired and hungry all the time. Usually tiredness and hunger are both symptoms that appear at the same time. And maybe this is what is happening to you also, right?

What you really need to know is: what is really happening within your body?

According to the kind of activity that you are doing, your body needs some necessary amount of nutrients to use. It’s like if your body is the machine, and the food is your fuel.

Don’t eat just food. Eat Nutrients

Usually if you’re feeling tired, this is because your body is lacking of the real amount of nutrients it needs so it can work properly in a determined situation. You’d probably also feel a lot of hunger by then. And, if you’re eating more but the hunger keeps in there, this means that what you eat lacks of the real nutrients that your body is really needing.

In the end, is not important how much food you eat, but how many nutrients you’re eating, ok? Keep up with me here. You need to eat as much as nutrients as you need, according to the activity you’re going to perform. But that doesn’t necessary mean that you need to eat too much of just any kind of food.

The more the activity requirements, the more the nutrients your body needs

You may note that if you do sports, you’d usually want to eat a lot more! If you didn’t note it yet, just try. If you go to the gym, at your first day you’ll discover that after your workouts session you will be feeling hungrier than usual. And that’s because your body is asking you for more nutrients – not food, nutrients.

What I’d suggest is that you first make a check of the food you’re eating and take a look at the vitamins and nutrients that your food has in total. You’d probably need help from a dietitian in here.

Change what you eat and also change your daily eating schedule

If you want to take care of yourself just as soon as possible. Begin by stop eating as much as junk food as you’re currently eating, and start eating more vegetables and fruits which are the ones that have the most nutrients your body needs.

Also, try not eating too much at just certain hours. Try eating little amount of food but more times a day. This will actually improve your body metabolism and will help you feel less tired and less hungry.

How To Deal With Depression

February 2nd, 2011 No comments

When it comes to how to deal with depression, it can be very controversial amongst professionals. There are many types of treatments and certainly a whole arsenal of medications used to treat depression. When using the term treat depression it should be interpreted loosely and not literally, because medications will only treat some symptoms of depression. There are other symptoms such as physical symptoms that may require additional medications in combination.

Professionals have yet come to understand why depression occurs. There are chemicals in the brain such as serotonin which have been linked to depression. However, again professionals can only speculate how much these chemicals play a part in individuals suffering from depression. There is no way to measure the levels of chemicals in the brain to know if they are low or abnormal. So when medication is administered there is no way of knowing to what level the brains chemicals have been raised. There does remain one fact though when learning how to deal with depression, that is, the medications do work for many individuals from all walks of life.

When it comes to learning how to deal with depression seeking advice from a physician may differ from going to a mental heath professional such as a psychiatrist. Both will treat the depression through medication, but because there is so many different medications they may prescribe different types of medication. Along with medication there should be some psychotherapy involved, the medications are only going to treat the symptoms of depression rather than cure the individual who is suffering from depression.

There exists four different types of medication that can used in an answer of how to deal with depression. There are four different types of anti depressants that are used each having a different kind of make up and targeting different types of depression. SSRI’s (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), atypical antidepressants, TCAs (tricyclic antidepressants), and MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors).

SSRI’s are the a newer type of medication that is very popular. This type of medication affects a chemical in the brain called serotonin. Serotonin plays a role in mood, digestion, sleep, pain, body functions, and mental clarity. In turn SSRI can have some side effects such as, sexual problems, drowsiness, insomnia, and nausea. Most side effects will go away after a couple of weeks.

Another type is atypical anti depressants which also is a newer type of medication. These target neurotransmitter chemicals in the brain such as norepinephrine and dopamine. It will affect them alone or sometimes in conjunction with serotonin as well. Side effects can be nausea, fatigue, weight gain, sleepiness, nervousness, dry mouth, and blurred vision.

TCA’s named after the drugs’ molecular structure, which contains three rings of atoms. TCA’s are one of the oldest classes of antidepressants. Side effects are more severe than the newer medications and only used as a last resort when other medications don’t work.

MAOI’s are also an older drug and also have more severe side effects than the newer medications again making these types of medications used only as a last resort.

All antidepressant medications can cause withdrawals if stopped suddenly. In order to get off of these drugs they must be tapered down for a few weeks to a level that will not cause severe withdrawals. Some withdrawal symptoms include: anxiety, agitation, depression, mood swings, Flu-like symptoms, irritability, aggression, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of coordination, stomach cramping, electric shock sensations, tremors, muscle spasms.

Antidepressants have been show to cause suicidal thoughts, suicidal acts, and committing suicide. This is especially true with children and adolescents. Close monitoring in adolescents for signs of trouble is highly important and antidepressants should not be prescribed for young children. A different method of how to deal with depression must be implemented such as psychotherapy.

8 Ways To Naturally Enlarge Your Breasts

January 14th, 2011 No comments

These days, girls begin to develop bodily perception of themselves at a young age. This self awareness coupled with their desire to make a change leads women to try the available options to increase their breast size.

Every year there are hundreds of thousands of women and teenagers that have breast augmentation procedures. However, there is a high price tag that comes along with this procedure and considerable risks are also involved. When you consider ways to enlarge your breasts, consider a natural option prior to undergoing a surgical procedure. These options may leave you feeling more attractive, confident, and secure.

There are many ways to enhance your breast size naturally by non-invasive means without the risks involved with an invasive procedure. Try one or more of these suggestions to enlarge your breasts naturally prior to undergoing any surgery, or at least consider doing so.

1) Exercise – by strengthening the pectoris muscles underneath the breast tissue, breasts can look larger and more tone. Push-ups or drawing the arms repeatedly together to bring the palms of the hands together are common exercises that achieve this effect.

2) Hydration – any skin regimen has to include hydration. For those with no restrictions, the recommended water intake includes six to eight glasses a day. This will help keep the skin over your breasts looking and feeling healthy and moisturized.

3) Proper Bra Sizing – proper measurement of bra size is key in getting the support, lift, and comfort that can add size to your breasts. The time spent on being sized properly is well worth it.

4) Cup Enhancers or Silicone Bra Inserts – you can purchase and apply these cup enhancers with double-sided tape to fit snugly undetected in your bra. If you have sensitive skin, look for ones that are hypoallergenic.

5) Push-Up Padded Bra – consider purchasing a push up bra with padding to achieve a larger appearing cup size and increased cleavage.

6) Make-Up – try applying a touch of shimmer or bronzer in between your cleavage to draw the eye to that area and visually add depth.

7) Tape or Moleskin – apply tape or moleskin across the lateral and bottom aspect of the breast to push them together and give them a lift.

8) Proper fitting shirts – choose clothes that fit properly and don’t show too much cleavage. Tight fitting clothes do not enhance your bust line or breast appearance.

3 Ways to Control Body Odor

December 30th, 2010 No comments

Body odor is not something that anyone wants to deal with, as it can be embarrassing if it gets out of hand. Proper hygiene can do wonders for helping to control body odor, but there are also a few other things that you can do to help with the problem.

The common understanding is that body odor is caused by sweating, but, the truth is that the odor is actually caused by the toxins that the sweat brings out to the surface of the skin. Thus when your body is free from toxins, then a foul body odor will not be a problem. Here are 3 ways to control body odor, aside from proper hygiene.

Healthy Diet

When the foods that go into your body are dead because they have been heavily processed, and contain many harmful ingredients, then the smell of those foods will not be pleasant when they come out. These are foods that the body does not know how to break down and digest properly, and thus they remain in the body for a period of time and become toxic before the body can begin to eliminate them.

But when you feed the body live foods that it can digest and eliminate within a day or so, then the foods do not have a chance to become toxic, and thus the body odor is reduced, and in many cases eliminated altogether.

The foods that need to be eliminated are animal proteins, particularly red meat, fast and processed foods, as well as all junk foods such as chips and candy bars, as they can all cause body odor.

Then the foods to incorporate are live plant-based foods such as fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices and nuts and seeds. Ginger root, lemon balm, mint, sage and cilantro are excellent herbs to naturally help with body odor.

Juice Fast

A juice fast will give the digestive system a break, and during this time, no new toxins are introduced to the body. Thus the toxins that have accumulated in the body for a while are able to leave the digestive tract and the blood stream. The fewer amount of toxins that are in the body, the less offensive the odor will be.

Sweating

Sweating is good for you, for the more you sweat, the more toxins can be released from the body. To promote the body to break into a sweat, you can take a hot bath, sit in a sauna or engage in exercise.

Just remember that when you promote your body to break into a sweat, that you consume plenty of fluids to replace those that you lost during sweating.
