Right Hand Rings

July 15th, 2010 No comments

Single women like to wear them to show their independence and importance in society, while married women wear them to show that they are not just a wife and mother.

Women began wearing rings on the right hand back in the sixteenth century. The rich and famous women would wear and still wear big elaborate diamonds to show off their social status. Usually, these rings are worn on the right ring finger but they can also be worn on the index finger. There are even thumb rings and pinkie rings that some women love to wear.

The most popular right hand rings are made with diamonds but other stones that are also popular are emeralds, rubies, topaz, and amethyst. Usually, when coming from a boyfriend or husband, girls prefer diamonds because as everybody knows, “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” Some diamond rings are made with clusters of small stones which are very stunning. Others may have designs such as hearts or swirls of separate stones that are very lovely. There are some beautiful blue topaz and sapphire rings that are simply gorgeous.

When purchasing rings for the right hand, there are many different styles to choose from. You can show off your personality and independence with bold, contemporary styles or you can choose a more soft elegant style. Each different style of ring can have a different meaning. Choose what best fits your style.

In the age we live in, you don’t have to wait for that special occasion like a romantic evening or a fancy party to wear your rings. You can wear them to work, when you go shopping, or just whenever the mood strikes you. Rings, especially, those you wear on the right hand, can be a way of defining your personality or just help you to be more expressive.

When it comes to purchasing rings, you can go all out and find those that range in the thousands of dollars, or you can be more conservative and just spend a few hundred dollars. It’s all up to you and your pocketbook, of course. There are some absolutely gorgeous rings like Kayla’s Fancy CZ Sapphire Blue ring that is less than $100 but unless you are a gemologist, you would not know that it was only that much. Only your jeweler knows for sure.
